Recently, my team was able to track that our podcast -- which we had just launched a couple of months ago -- has now just exceeded 1000 downloads. In my mind, I dismissed it. And here's why.

I am friends with people who have hugely successful podcasts -- millions of downloads on a regular basis. And so when my content manager told me that we were almost at 1000 downloads, it just felt so small, so insignificant.

Then somebody else on my team called me out on this and said “If you were to have all those people who listened to our podcast in a room, that's a lot of people.” That's a lot of people who've chosen to press play on my podcast and listen to what I had to say.

And so I really had to take a pause for a moment, and realize that what I was doing was comparing myself -- the very thing that I so often speak about on this platform.

I am so grateful for each and every person who has listened. And it was such a beautiful reminder to me that we sometimes rob ourselves of joy, when we compare ourselves to other people, when we compare our success with somebody else's success.

Ultimately, it's what matters to me -- the fact that despite all of the fear, despite all of the self doubt, that despite all the challenges, we've put out a podcast episode every single week.

I wanted to share this as a reminder to you today -- stop comparing your success. Stop minimizing your victories. Your victory is no less of victory, because it is in your mind “small.” Every victory, every achievement deserves to be applauded.
